PDF Detective is built with privacy as its foundation. Your documents are analysed entirely within your browser — no file data is ever transmitted to any server.
>No Cookies or Tracking
We do not use cookies, local storage tracking, or any third-party analytics scripts. There are no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and no advertising networks.
>100% Local Analysis
All PDF analysis runs client-side via WebAssembly. Your PDF files are read into memory in your browser, analysed locally, and never leave your device. No file content, filenames, or file hashes are transmitted.
>Anonymous Metrics
When you analyse a PDF, one anonymous event may be sent containing only aggregate statistics: risk score category, number of findings by severity, scoring profile, and locale. This contains no file content, no filenames, no file hashes, and no personally identifiable information.
>No Personal Data
There are no user accounts, no registration, no email collection, and no personal data processing. We do not collect IP addresses beyond what is technically necessary for HTTP transport (and these are not stored or logged).
>GDPR Compliance
Because we do not process personal data, data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are inherently satisfied — there is simply no personal data to act upon.
